Description
Protestant, Unionist, Loyalist political mural in Belfast depicting the original 1912 Young Citizen Volunteer and the modern day equivalent from an illegal paramilitary group in Northern Ireland - the Ulster volunteer force. Political Murals in northern Ireland are used to tell the story of different communties from a political / historical / cultural perspective. They can also be used to mark territory, as intimidation or to promote political ideology or national identity. Our images are a record of events in Ireland and do not necessarily represent our political views. Our images are not intended to promote or support any political ideology but are a report of circumstances as they occur. As you will see we have images from all sides of the conflict in Ireland.
